  • 24-hour clinical social work
  • Psychiatric medication evaluation
  • Individual treatment plan
  • Coordination of medical, educational & therapeutic needs

Foster GirlSierra Vista Child & Family Services has an umbrella of services and levels of care to offer children and families. We have been successful in providing emergency, short and long term placements and preparation for adoptions. Transition care is also provided for children who are moving into kinship care and reunification.

The Foster Family Program is committed to high quality and is known for its long-term commitment to children and foster families. Placements are based on a matching system between families and children, so there is less disruption for the child. The Foster Family Program works successfully with residential facilities in bridging the transition into foster placement.

Homes can be developed for specific children as needed. Siblings are very important to Sierra Vista. We try to place them together, but when that is not possible we make sure they have regular visits.

Sierra Vista foster families are screened and their homes are certified to meet all the agency, California Alliance of Child and Family Services and State of California Department of Social Service Community Care Licensing regulations. Our families are part of the Sierra Vista team and receive extensive training to prepare them for their special needs child.

We at Sierra Vista believe that to be a good foster parent the following requirements are necessary:

Parenting skills that include fairness, good communication skills and patience.

A family structure that can be flexible enough to adjust to a special needs child.

By working together as a team, we can create an environment where children can heal the wounds of abuse and abandonment and learn to trust again.
