|Hughson Family Resource Center
The Hughson Family Resource Center is located in the rural agriculture community of Hughson and is the only Family Resource Center serving southeast Stanislaus County, a 265 square mile area. The Center serves eight communities including Hughson, Denair, Empire, Gratton, Hickman, LaGrange, Roberts Ferry, and Waterford.
The Hughson Family Resource Center’s mission is to provide and coordinate resources and services through partnerships that enhance the health, education and well-being of the communities we serve.
Family Support Program
The Family Support Program provides one-on-one assistance for families seeking services. The staff helps parents identify areas that need to be strengthened, set goals for the family, provide advocacy in the school system and a link with other community organizations.
Parent Education Programs
The Center Parent Education Programs are provided in both English and Spanish. Topics include positive discipline, family nurturing, building self-esteem and alcohol/drug awareness. In addition to parent education, support groups are offered.
Health Education & Outreach
The Center provides a variety of health education outreach services that includes fitness and nutrition classes, help with Child Health Plan insurance, enrollment in Healthy Families, Cal Fresh (food stamp) application assistance and community health fairs.
Family Literacy and School Readiness
The Center offers activities that help prepare children and their parents to have success in the educational system. These services include family literacy and English as a Second Language classes.
Healthy Birth Outcomes Program
This is a fun and interactive support group for pregnant women and parents with infants. A public health nurse provides pregnancy, child birth and infant care education.

Mental health services are available to eligible children and adults. These services include assessment for both adults and children and counseling for individual, family or groups.
